I attended their beading class. This was the very first time that I spoke with Native Americans and I cannot wait to go back! it was a cultural immersion assignment for my class and I am so glad I got to experience it rather than just reading about the culture. So nice that they have place to gather and keep their traditions alive like the beading, sewing, drum circles, the Pow Wows. #EmbraceCulture

Thanks to the American Indian Center I was able to attend my first ever Pow Wow. The whole event was organized by the center and it showcased indigenous culture beautifully. Felt like home. #ChicagoPowWow2021

Best place to be volunteer and be a part of the Indigenous movement! It important for our children to keep this traditions alive. I'm so happy Pow wows are done here. I've always travel to Milwaukee Wisconsin for this events.Its great to know there's a strong indigenous community Alive in my sweet home Chicago.

Went to Friday night bingo and had a great time! Everyone was super friendly and welcoming and the center is beautiful. Definitely going back again!

Such a great amount of good energy and compassionate and respetctful people. I loved how the younger people treated the elders and Veteran's. Felt safe, happy & secure.

I came to this location for the first time with the intent to help by reading one of my favorite childhood books to the young children in attendance of an event . In my opinion their families are being charged too much money $25 for a storytelling event.i was greeted coldly and impersonably, and my offer of volunteering and gift was rejected more than once within 1 conversation. I suspect the truth was withheld from me. I will never return here. I am disappointed to a high degree. It was an older woman with really bad in person conduct.

Had a great time with my friends learning how to use the bow and arrow. The instructor was informative and very knowledgeable on the subject. Sadly the building looks like it needs maintenance and it's a little unsettling when we first entered.

I have missed being around my People. My Tribal flag is even here. I havent been around my own People for 7 years when I left my Rez. Love the atmosphere. I have missed my People so much. Will be moving back home to the area. So excited to get involved. Only a Native knows a Native spirit. I am rejuvenated. Wohpila for welcoming me. My husband is at work. This was worth the drive.
